How big of a role does MLS play in the NYC Coop market.?

With NYC coop rules not allowing signs for sale in the window or on the front doors, like residential homes use, I am curious to know what is the estimated percentage of homes sold that find the purchaser from the an agent utilizing the MLS.
Are most buyers found from an agent using MLS.
Is MLS the best channel or do the majority of purchasers come from online listings like craig list.
MLS is the best marketing tool plus the listing is entered into Realtor.com so goes nation wide. The are no fast percentages but most agents when looking for a home for a buyer WILL use the MLS before Craiglist.
